While chewing gum may be banned in Singapore, we all are guilty of trying to sneak a couple of packs in from Malaysia.

Now if you are super ‘suay’ (unlucky) and you kena (get) chewing gum in your hair, don’t resort to drastically cutting off your locks. Try one of these tested methods below to remove it instead! (They really do work!)

Removing Gum From Your Hair

1) Soak hair in Olive Oil. Let it sit for ten minutes. Comb out. If the gum does not slide off easily, repeat the process.

2) Apply peanut butter to the gum. Let it soak for about five to ten minutes. Then apply dish soap onto the peanut butter and massage into the hair. Rinse area and repeat till all the gum is removed.

My son had Silly Putty stuck in his hair and the olive oil (or any oil for that matter) method worked!
