Using the Copier during Pregnancy

Many pregnant women worry about prolonged use of the computer or photocopier at work. However, they have not been shown to have any harmful effect on pregnant women.

If you would like to be on the safe side, it is best that you do not change the toner cartridge of the photocopier, as it is believed to be rather dusty. Another office equipment to be careful around are laser printers, which give off dust in the air. Besides changing the cartridge, no study has indicated that using photocopiers contributes to miscarriage or child abnormality. To be on the safe side, avoid changing the cartridge unless the machine is in a well-ventilated area.
