2 Children die due to Dengue in Cebu City

Two young boys–aged 3 and 10–died on December 10, Saturday at Cebu City Medical Center due to dengue. CCMC administrator Kenneth Siasar told ABS-CBN news.

According to Siasar, the children’s parents may not have noticed dengue’s early symptoms so the boys were brought to the hospital too late. Both had suffered from fever for nearly six days.

The Department of Health told ABS-CBN that 214 people have died due to dengue in Region 7 (Bohol, Cebu, and Siquijor) since January 2016.

372 Dengue deaths have been recorded since January 2016

Since January of this year, there has been a reported 84,805 cases of dengue. Of this number, there have been 372 dengue deaths. According to Rappler report, Central Visayas has the most number of dengue-related deaths with a reported 65 cases as of August 2016.

Parents should take note of the following symptoms in order to treat dengue before it worsens.
