25 fun questions to ask your kids instead of "How was your day?"

25 fun questions to ask your kids instead of "How was your day?"25 fun questions to ask your kids instead of "How was your day?"

Get more than the usual "It was okay" answer by asking your kids these fun questions.

A strong, healthy relationship with your child is built on nurturing connection and communication. While having a casual catch-up (initiated with "How was your day?") once they get home from school is the usual practice, you may begin to notice how sometimes they'll reply with just a shrug or a one-word reply.

If you can't seem to get more than a few words out of them, it may be time to change up the game and ask different, fun questions as conversation starters.

It's very important  to nurture open communication and dialogue with your kids, especially when they're young, as this has significant impact on your their health and well-being (i.e. sense of confidence, motivation to succeed, etc).

Whether over dinner or once your kids come home from school, ask them what's going on in their lives, and if anything special happened during their day.

Even if your kids don't feel like sharing in the beginning, if you ask often and consistently, at least they know that you are interested to listen to what they have to say and share. And soon, you'll see them open up more.
