Blowing bubbles is always an enjoyable pastime, regardless of whether you’re a guy over 30 or a child of 3. But you can make your bubble-making adventures more fun by using tried-and-tested recipes that ensure bigger, better, and stronger bubbles.

Here are 4 easy recipes that are worth whipping up. You won’t be disappointed as these bubble babies are sure to last!

WATER + CORN SYRUP + DISHWASHING LIQUID

First, combine 6 cups of water and 1 cup of light corn syrup thoroughly. Add 2 cups of dishwashing liquid and mix together until fully combined. Avoid forming any air bubbles in the mixture.

Use bubble wands and dip them into the liquid mixture, rather than stirring them in. Then, blow bubbles for some giant fun! For even tougher bubble strength, leave the mixture out in the open for an hour or two.

This is great for spending hours out in the yard with the kids.

GLYCERIN + CORN SYRUP + DISHWASHING LIQUID

Mix 5 cups of glycerin (it prevents the bubbles from evaporating so they do not pop instantly), 1 cup of corn syrup, and 3 cups of dishwashing soap together, taking care to avoid forming any foam or bubbles in the mixture.

For best results, store the mixture in the fridge for 24 hours. This thick solution enables the bubbles to last longer and come out as bigger bubbles.

*** You can find glycerin in arts and crafts specialty stores, but you can also search online for glycerin suppliers. You can also find glycerin in certain baking supply stores as well as drugstores.

Combine all the ingredients together: 1 cup of distilled water, 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of dishwashing soap, and 1 tablespoon of glycerin. Let it sit for 24 hours. To create the bubbles, dip a small pipette into the mixture and blow!

With a little practice, you can jerk the pipette upwards to detach it from the bubble. You can now bounce bubbles off your hands. To avoid any allergic reaction on the skin, you can use microfiber gloves when playing.

Similar to most recipes, gently combine ⅓ cup of commercial bubble solution (store bought with a wand), ⅓ cup water, and ⅓ cup of glycerin together. Let it sit untouched for a period of time. This is to allow the solution to thicken and become heavier due to the glycerin.

Based on one experiment, the bubble created can last for as long as 3 months. Try beating that or the longest one that lasted for 342 days!
