It has truly been a roller-coaster ride since the day we have been officially called as parents because of our little one. Definitely, our ups and downs are molding us into the best version of this parenthood journey we have entered months ago.

Raising our little one is not easy but my husband and I have been so good, understanding and a helping hand to each other as we know that we are both needed by our little one as he grows.

I must admit that taking good care of our little one without anyone else aside from my husband is a very challenging decision, but we have also agreed to try to become independent from our own parents, so it is a challenge we both happily accepted.

Up to this day, it is a decision we don’t regret because it teaches us a lot of things and just make me and my husband appreciate each other more.

The following are reasons why I learn to appreciate my husband even more:

He genuinely cares. I like it every time he asks me, “How are you?” even if we see each other everyday. He does things for me like simply carrying heavy things especially that I’m still recovering from my C-section operation. He treats me and my son with lots of love.

He works tirelessly for our family. He is the sole provider for our family right now but he never shows us signs of too much exhaustion and stress. Everyday he wakes up with the thought of doing the best that he can for our family. He also continues to seek for more possible source of income for us. I know it is a cause of pressure to but he always shows us that he can and he will for the three of us.

He shares a hand with the chores. Given the fact that he works almost 12 hours a day does not stop him from still helping me with the chores at home especially with the errands we have for our baby. I am just so thankful that he is truly a helping hand to me in many different ways. He does the general cleaning weekly. He sometimes do the grocery for us, he wash the dishes alternately with me, he takes over our child when I need to do something and a lot lot more.

He gives compliments lots of times. There are times when I feel like I am at my worst look, yet I would hear him say, “I married a very beautiful woman.” It is a very cheesy line but it just makes me love him even more. He is really full of compliments that I am actually not anticipating or I am not eagerly waiting for, but I must honestly say that it helps especially when I am overwhelmed with the demands of being a mother and a wife.

These are just few of still so many things that have blossomed with our relationship since the day we became parents. All in all, I am just so thankful that I have a strong and loving man beside me as I fulfill my dream of having my own family. We are not perfect, we still argue many times, but the love is there all the time.
