A beautiful newborn baby was found abandoned outside a home in Las Piñas City. The child was covered by ants and had been bitten by mosquitoes by the time she was rescued.

She was found placed outside a gate in a nearby home

The baby was rescued by a resident, Amelia Catapang, outside the gate near their home. At around 1 a.m. on December 31, 2016, her son heard the baby crying nearby, and immediately called his mother. Being a mom herself, Amelia took the baby and took care of her.

Once the baby was rescued, she immediately set out cleaning her up and made sure that she is safe and healthy. She shares that she also had to pick out the ants crawling all over her body. She then took the newborn to the local DSWD to seek help for the child.

The baby was only 3 days old

According to reports, the child was found outside the home of a nearby resident named Dolores Bajade. When questioned by the police, Bajade said that she didn’t hear any baby crying outside of her home.

The police shared that whoever abandoned the baby was apparently not alone. They add that the baby was probably 3 days old by the time she was abandoned.

The baby has been turned over to the DSWD where they will attempt to reunite her with her mother. In case the real mother can’t be located, the newborn will then be put up for adoption.

Hopefully, the child’s mother will reconsider her actions so that her daughter can be reunited with her. We’re just happy that the baby was rescued and is now safe and sound.
