The actress has reportedly filed for divorce after being married for a little over a year.
CNN reports that both Heard, 30, and Depp, 52,cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split. She also requested spousal support, which Depp has requested the court to reject.
His request also included that Heard be required to shoulder her own attorney’s fees.
They recently made headlines for violating Australia’s biosecurity laws regarding foreign animals when they brought their two dogs into the country illegally.
Depp was there to film the latest installment of the hit franchise, “Pirates of the Caribbean”.
The charges were eventually dismissed while she plead guilty to knowingly producing a false or misleading document.
She also escaped conviction on the condition of a one-month good behavior bond sentence.
They were then required to record an apology, which has since gone viral; netizens found the somber recording quite bizarre.
The pair didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement prior to tying the knot in February 2015. They met on the set of ‘The Rum Diary’ in 2011 and got engaged a year later.The couple have no children.
However, Depp has two children (Lily Rose, 16 and Jack, 13) with former longtime partner French model-singer-actress Vanessa Paradis.
