After nearly nine months of dating, Angel Aquino has introduced her new love to the public.
She did so in an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda after being asked about the “mystery guy” that’s been making an appearance on her instagram account.
Who is Angel Aquino’s new boyfriend?
The award-winning actress met Farzad, a Persian engineer, while on vacation in Boracay back in December 2015.
“He took a selfie of us. That was the day I met him. That [photo] was in Boracay. And then we walked to the farthest end of the [beach]…” she recounted in the interview.
“The stranger became some kind of wonderful surprise.”

She also shared a photo of them on the beach together (taken when they met) with the caption: “The stranger became some kind of wonderful surprise.”
“We became friends. And it became more than that,” she continued in the interview, adding “Oh, yes [I’m in love]!”

Farzad is Qatar-based engineer. “But he’ll be coming soon to visit,” revealed Angel. Farzad has also shared photos of their dates and bonding times with friends from February to May of this year. So far, they’ve traveled to Baguio and Bacolod together.

Angel Aquino has always been close with her daughters
The 43-year-old actress isn’t just great at her craft, she’s also a wonderful mom to her two teen daughters, Iana and Thea. Just a quick scan of her eldest daughter Iana’s instagram and you can instantly how close they all are.
“I’ve always been proud of you, mum. Stay golden,” wrote her eldest Iana in one recent post.
“Sobrang bait na magi-guilty ka kapag masama ka. Kaya kunwari magde-decide ka, ‘yung good choice na lang ‘yung pipiliin mo,” 22-year-old Iana said in a recent interview on ABS-CBN’s Magandang Buhay. “She teaches you how to make good decisions because she gives you the freedom to do it. Bilang respeto, because your mom gave you that freedom, you choose to do the right thing.”
In the same interview, Angel shared her struggles as a single mom, recounting the time when her youngest–who is now 20 years old–daughter was diagnosed with hydrocephalus.
“Ako bilang mom ‘yung bigat sa puso, sa damdamin, sa isip. Pero I can’t imagine what she went through,” recalled Angel. “Yun nga noong pinanganak ko siya na hydrocephalus buti na lang medyo naka-work na ako noon so we were able to support the operation. Pero kasi nag-recur ‘yon when she was 10 years old so mas mahirap.”
This trial helped her learn to keep the faith and stay strong for her daughter. But more than anything, their struggles taught her that a mother’s love is truly unconditional.
