Drug-addicted aunt wraps 1-year-old with tape, puts him inside cabinet

In a horrifying turn of events, one aunt got so angry at her nephew's constant crying, that she wrapped his head in tape, and stuffed him inside a cabinet.

Maria Ruth Mariano, 23, reportedly a drug addict, was placed under arrest after she admitted to wrapping her 1-year-old nephew’s head in tape, placing him inside a cabinet, and when she found out that he had died, threw him into a canal.

She said he was being noisy

The 1-year-old’s body was found dead in a canal near Palong St., Barangay 70 in Caloocan City, but sadly, the child was declared dead on arrival when brought to the nearby hospital.

According to the child’s aunt, she said that her nephew was being noisy, so she decided to wrap the child’s head and body with tape, and then placed him inside a cabinet in order to keep him quiet.

She then discovered that the child had died because of suffocation, so she took him out of the cabinet, and snuck out of the house to throw his lifeless body into a canal.

She admitted that she was using drugs

The boy’s family desperately looked for the 1-year-old boy, but they were unable to find him. However, when they resumed their search, they eventually discovered his body in a canal.

The child’s aunt then admitted that she was the one who caused her nephew to die, and she was also the one who put her in the canal.

According to PO2 Rodolfo King Bautista, investigator for the Caloocan City Police, the suspect also admitted to being a drug user.
