It’s never easy to leave your child in the care of others, but for some families, it’s necessary. To help you with your search for daycare centers that provide basic infant care, we’ve compiled some useful tips from Healthy Children along with some tips of our own. Here are some questions you’ll want to ask before choosing:
- operating hours – Do they coincide with your working hours? Discuss how you’ll make this work with your partner as well. What if you’re late in picking up your child due to unavoidable circumstances? What happens?
- fees and services – What’s included in the fees? Are there any extra costs that you have to shoulder? What are the payment terms?
- qualifications – You’ll feel more at ease knowing that your child is cared for by people who are qualified for the job. Basic safety should, of course, be covered.
- number of employees – What is the ratio between a child and a caregiver? Are small children grouped together?
- testimonials/references – Do they have a list of other parents who are satisfied with their services?
- license – Are they licensed by the government to provide such services?
- communication – Is the center equipped with a CCTV that you can access in case you want to check on your child?
Note: Due to the pandemic, these daycare centers may not be operational as of the moment, but they may offer virtual programs. Please check with them in the contact details provided below.
