Who doesn’t know morena beauty and “It” girl Bianca Gonzalez? A self-proclaimed (and certified!) superwoman, she isn’t letting her baby bump stop her from continuing to do what she loves—modeling, hosting and writing!
Bianca’s regular column on the Philippine Star, 10 Things, is an engaging and refreshing dialogue with celebrities, personalities and regular folks. Bianca’s open and warm-hearted nature can be felt by everyone she meets. At 32 years old, she and cager JC Intal are expecting their first baby in October.
As one of our Marvelous Moms this year, we were able to speak with her about her pregnancy, married life with JC and how she can be an inspiration to other expectant moms. Let’s take a look at how Super Bianca is handling everything with a bun in the oven.
What were the signs that got you thinking, “I’m pregnant”?
No symptoms really other than I was a bit more delayed than usual! So my husband bought a home pregnancy kit (4 actually, haha) for us to check.
Please describe the moment/day you officially found out you were pregnant. What happened? How did you feel? How did JC react?
It really all happened so fast. We just got married early December and when we took the home pregnancy test and it had two lines, we were just both shocked and happy.
What are the things that you look forward to during the pregnancy? And what are the things that make you nervous about it?
I wanna come into this experience really fresh, to try to enjoy every (nauseous, so far, haha) moment of it because they say it goes by so fast. I just will do my best to stay as fit and healthy as I can until D day.
How do you plan to stay fit and healthy during your pregnancy? What are some of the tips that your doctor has given you to ensure a healthy pregnancy?
My OB told me that swimming and pilates will be good for me, and I found that perfect because those are really my two regular workouts!
What kind of mother do you want to become? What kind of relationship are you hoping to build with your child?
To be honest, I haven’t thought that far off yet. Though I am not strict as a person, I have funny feeling I will be the strict parent between me and JC! I have always said that I hope to do as good a job as my mom Ofel did with bringing me and my two siblings up. Will definitely take my cues from her and my mother-in-law.
What are some personal practices or beliefs that you’re hoping to pass on to your child?
To be God-fearing, to love family, to stay humble always and not boastful, to be hardworking and never feel entitled, and to be appreciative. I think those are all values that JC and I share which is why we got along.
What are the lessons you’ve learned as UNICEF children’s rights advocate and overall youth supporter that you’re going to apply to being a mother?
I am no longer officially with UNICEF – for quite a number of years now actually – but I am still a staunch supporter of their programs. A balanced life and healthy environment is what not just my child, but what every child should have.
What is your message to fellow soon-to-be moms?
We’re all in this together! This is way tougher than I thought and as of press time though I am only 3 months along, I can already feel how it is THE toughest job in the world.
Never be afraid to ask others for help and advice, but also filter what to listen to and don’t be too praning. Enjoy and be happy and stay healthy because for now, that’s really all we can do for our little ones.
What would you like to say to JC as you go through this beautiful journey together?
JC has been the most caring and supportive (and excited) so far. I am just so lucky to be on this journey with him, and I am thankful for his patience when I have bratty tendencies. Even before we got engaged, I already saw how amazing a father he would be.
What is your wish for your future child?
For now, all we really pray for is a happy, healthy, and safe pregnancy and delivery! I think I have too many wishes for my future child, it would be hard to sum it up in a few sentences.
