Who was your gynaecologist?

Dr. Cecilia Vicencio

Where did you give birth?

The Medical City

Did you have a birth plan? Were you able to follow it?

Of course, the idea was to give birth normally. But at 38 weeks, my baby already weighed 8 pounds and my doctor was concerned that she would be too big to be pushed out if I waited until the 40th week. So we ended up scheduling the birthing the same day we had my baby weighed. We tried to induce labor, but after 7-8 hours, my cervix was only 4cm dilated and 30% effaced (not sure about the numbers there -- blame the mommy brain!). My doctor decided to do an emergency CS operation since it has been a few hours since she popped my water bag and it would pose risks of infection for me and my baby.

Who was your birth partner? Did he/she hinder or help during delivery?

My husband was there during the labor induction. He even bought me Chippy as comfort food, but the nurse didn't allow him to feed it to me. During the CS operation, however, he asked stay out and just wait. He was too worried for my and our baby!
