How to make a blended vegetable purée for your baby
This vegetarian recipe is a good source of different vitamins and iron — perfect for babies starting on solids!
What you need:
- 1 small potato, peeled
- 1 small piece pumpkin, peeled
- 1/2 cup carrot, grated
- 1 small piece green leafy vegetable (broccoli, zucchini, lettuce)
What you do:
1. Steam or boil the vegetables until they are soft. Make sure you don’t overcook them so as not to decrease their nutritional value.
2. Press vegetables through a strainer or purée in a blender or food processor. For older babies, you can also try mashing everything with a fork.
