Incoming 8th grade student Romel Mark Bautista wanted to be a doctor. Sadly, his life was cut short when he accidentally drowned while swimming in a beach in Ilocos Norte.

He was swept away by the strong current

According to reports, 4 of his friends enticed him to swim in the ocean with them. However, a large wave suddenly came, and while his friends were able to get out in time, Romel was swept away by the strong current and drowned.

His body was found floating near where he first got swept away

After the incident, search operations were conducted, but they failed to find his body.
