Viber, one of the world’s leading apps for free and easy communication, remains true to its commitment to empower local food sellers and micro, small, and medium enterprises or MSMEs as it teams up with Sugbo Mercado, the biggest weekend food market in Cebu.
During the launch of the partnership on June 17-19, Sugbo Mercado patrons were able to skip the line and order their food ahead of time by simply leaving a comment on the channel.
An important component of Viber’s Cebu expansion, this partnership gives local food entrepreneurs a chance to promote their business through the Sugbo Mercado Food Market Viber channel where Cebuano foodies can enjoy exclusive perks.
During the launch of the partnership on June 17-19, Sugbo Mercado patrons were able to skip the line and order their food ahead of time by simply leaving a comment on the channel. They were also able to request for their favorite songs through the same means. Viber and Sugbo Mercado also prepared a series of fun on-ground events for the foodies at the launch, like giving away free purple ice cream to the first 100 customers who completed the bingo card requirements.
At the same event, Viber also announced the creation of a new Channel for and by Cebuanos, Asa Ta Bai channel. The messaging app also launched the free 30-minute Viber calls to landline and non-Viber mobile numbers, giving a few bonuses to foodies who will call a landline number posted on the Sugbo Mercado channel using the Viber app. For the launch weekend, at least 50 Viber callers enjoyed P200 off their food orders. For the succeeding Fridays, the first 50 Viber callers will receive P100 off vouchers that can be used to order any food from any Sugbo Mercado Garden Bloc merchants.
