Intrigue is part of show ‘biz, as they say. It doesn’t matter whether you’re married or single. For celebrity couples, being plagued by cheating rumors is no longer surprising, but this doesn’t mean they are immune to the hurt it can cause. So it’s inspiring to see celebrity couples who not only survive cheating scandals, but have also managed to come out of it stronger and more in love!
Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo
The rumor hounded them for years, but they’re still together and seemingly happier together. Back in 2013, Judy Ann was accused of constantly “covering up” husband Ryan’s infidelity.
“I guess hindi mo maiaalis ang mga ganyang tsismis sa isang couple na masaya ang pagsasama. Pupukpukin at pupukpukin talaga kayo ng intriga hanggang masaya kayong dalawa,” she said in an interview on The Buzz.
Four years later, in an interview with Inquirer.net, she emphasized that she’s confident that Ryan is faithful to her.
“How can [he] have someone else when we’re always together?,” said the 39-year-old actress and TV host.
“[Bashers] will tell you all sorts of things—like recently, someone said Rye had been spending more time with his mistress. To console myself, I would sometimes say that the Lord would take them away any time soon,” she joked, adding how she feels the need to fight back in order to protect their family.
Ryan and Judy Ann welcomed their third child, Luna, in 2016 and flew to Italy to celebrate their 8th wedding anniversary.
Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Panglinan
Married for 21 years, both Sharon and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan maintain there has never been infidelity in their marriage, despite the constant rumors that claim otherwise.
“I’ve never been unfaithful. That’s true,” Pangilinan told ABS-CBN in a past interview.
Though Cuneta knows their marriage isn’t perfect, she remains happy that she married Pangilinan, with whom she has two daughters.
“There are times na gusto mong iwan. There are times na gusto mong patayin. Ganoon lang naman, lahat mag-asawa. I’m just being frank and honest,” she said, adding: “He is a very good man, that’s why I married him. It’s just that we didn’t grow up in the same household, with the same parents. Of course, we are two different people.”
Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales
The couple, who tied the knot in 2001, have been the subject of several cheating rumors over the years. Back in 2014, rumors spread that the couple had split up due to infidelity on the part of Aga, who was allegedly carrying on an affair with a 20-year-old dancer.
But they silenced the rumors when, shortly after rumors broke out, they showered each other with sweet surprises and gifts to mark their 13th wedding anniversary.
Aga also emphasized that they’re happily married, directly addressing the rumors in a message to entertainment website PEP: “Thank you for your concern. Really appreciate it. Hayaan na natin sila. We’re all good, no worries.”
The couple have been together for 16 years and have two adorable twins, Atasha and Andre, who just turned 16 years old.
Vilma Santos and Ralph Recto
This couple are the only exception on the list because the congresswoman and veteran actress Vilma Santos bravely opened up that Recto did cheat on her in the past.
“Sabi ko, ‘Kung may gagawin ka at mahuli kita, aminin mo na, kesa madinig ko pa sa iba. Baka mas mapapatawad kita.’ There was one time, umamin. O, eh, di pinatawad ko,” Santos told Winnie Monsod in a past ABS-CBN interview. “Tinanong ko, ‘Totoo ba itong ganyan-ganyan?’ Sabi niya, ‘Totoo.’ ‘O, sige! Next time, be careful.’ Nag-sorry naman siya… Umiyak nga, e! Pero inamin niya kaya napatawad ko.”
They are still together and are very much as in love as they were when they tied the knot back in 1992.
