We love to speculate about the lives of celebrities from the clothes they wear to who they’re dating, from their recent haircuts to their weight changes.
Being constantly in the limelight poses certain pressures on celebrity parents, as well. The most recent of which is that of Oscar winner Charlize Theron who has been branded a “monster mom” by OK magazine.
Their basis? Recent paparazzi photos of Charlize “dragging” her 4-year-old son Jackson, whom she adopted in her home country, South Africa.
She then appears to be “wrestling the child to ground”.

But other parents, who see another side to the story, tweeted in the actress’ defense, calling out the magazine for passing harsh judgment on Charlize for doing something most parents find themselves having to do when their child is being unreasonable–which is natural for toddlers and kids.
@OKMagazine any parent of a 4yo has had to do this…4yo’s are not reasonable & throw tantrums. How dare you shame a parent doing their job?

@OKMagazine The only thing that’s shocking is her calmness. Also, perhaps, that you think this is odd for a 4-yr-old.

It’s easy to ascribe meaning to series of paparazzi photos without knowing the whole story. Celebrity parents, like regular parents, also struggle with disciplining their kids.
What would you have done if you found yourself in Charlize’s situation?
