I love Valentines. However, the husband…not soo much. Year in and year out he complains about how it’s a marketing ploy to just get consumers to spend their money buying unnecessary trinkets and sugar saccharine Hallmark cards. And with the horrible state of the economy right now, I can only imagine how much he is going to grumble this year!
Well, all I can say is daddies out there, (and my DH)…you don’t have to spend truckloads on us for Valentines. We just wanna feel loved and cared for. That said, here are ten simple but very thoughtful ideas that will not dig a hole in your pocket and yet make her smile from ear to ear.
1) Her favourite desert ( the Tiramisu from Da Paolo Gastronomia happens to be mine *hint-hint*)
2) A new novel with a handmade bookmark
3) A smiley face Famous Amos cookie
4) A heart-shaped balloon, or a round white/transparent balloon, with a rose placed on the inside
5) A framed photo of the two of you to put on her work desk
6) A mixed CD with romantic sappy love songs
7) A hand-written love note and explaining why, and when you fell in love with her
8) A bottle of her favourite wine
9) A box of strawberries and a can of whipped cream *grin*
10) Hershey kisses and a single stalk of rose
