The abuse started back in 2007, when the girl was only 7 years old.

She has now been rescued

The victim sent a letter to the Commision on Human Rights (CHR), writing that her father has been raping her since 2007, and that she needed help.

Through the joint efforts of the CHR and the PNP, the girl has been rescued from her house in Barangay Basak, Zamboanguita in Negros Oriental.

She is now safe under custody, and she will also be undergoing medical exams in order to support a case that they will be filing against the father.

Her father warned her that he would kill her if she told anyone

According to the 17-year-old, her father threatened that he would kill her if she told anyone. The CHR even tried asking the victim’s mother and siblings about it, but they said that they did not have any knowledge of the abuse that she suffered under her own father.

In an interview with a local news channel, the father denied that he raped his daughter, but he admitted to hurting his daughter whenever he becomes angry because she’s always out of the house.

The CHR added that the authorities confiscated a .357 caliber revolver as well as ammunition, and 3 shotgun shells. They will also be filing a case of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition against the child’s father.
