In the past, women would give up their careers in order to get married and have children. But nowadays, modern women are more ambitious and career-driven than before. They want to secure a high-paying job, travel the world and take their time in getting to know their husbands better.
With all of these priorities in mind, women usually want to hold off on babies for as long as they can.
Effective ways which can help convince your wife to have a baby
Being ready
Before you were married, you and your spouse may have made a pact to have kids– but only when both are ready! If you are ready, then start off by telling her that you think it’s a good time to have kids.
She may have just been waiting for you to speak up first. Once she knows that you are committed to having a baby and raising a child, she may start to consider it too.
Keep to your word
Most women are hesitant of having a baby, because they fear that they’ll be going through it all alone. Tell her that you would also be there for the entire pregnancy and beyond. Convince her that you will be with her during checkups and other tests that she would have to go through. And don’t just do lip service – make sure you keep to your word.
Enticing the passionate side
Is your wife passionate about fashion, sports or jewellery? Tell her how cute it would be if your future child would have the same interests as her. She would have a grand time imagining your daughter wearing all her stylish clothes in the future, or your son playing her favourite sport with her. When you fill her mind with wonderful future scenarios, she is more likely to be excited for a baby.
Appeal to her
Tell your wife exactly why you are longing to have a baby. Apart from having an heir, express how you have always wanted to hold and love someone, who is a token of your love for your spouse. Be honest and do not guilt-trip her. If she sees that you are sincere, she might be more interested in hearing you out.
Provide solid evidence
More than anything, most women are hesitant to have a baby because they think it would be unaffordable. You should take this time to explain to her that you are financially ready and stable to bring in a new addition to the family. Make sure to talk about this while providing evidence of said financial stability.
Show her your savings account (if she hasn’t seen it yet) or prepare a report on why a baby would not change anything financially — given your present assets and liabilities. Showing that you are prepared monetarily is always a big advantage.
If no matter how hard you have tried to convince your wife to have a baby and she still hasn’t agreed, then don’t force her or argue to get your point across.
She is the one who will be carrying the baby for 9 whole months, so she does have a big say on the matter, and you must respect it. Make sure to give the convincing a rest before trying again.
