Exercise is always more fun with someone, and if you and your partner are trying to get in shape, doing your workouts together can also strengthen your relationship. Here’s a simple yet challenging couples workout from Be The Fittest that you should definitely try.

1. Pushup claps

This workout exercises your chest muscles and the triceps. Remember to keep your core tight and back straight as you do your pushups. If you can’t do a full pushup, try the modified pushup with your knees to the floor instead.

Do 10 repetitions, then rest for 30 seconds.

2. Burpee jumps & plank

Get into a plank position while your partner does a burpee. Instead of jumping in place, however, your partner should jump over you. (If a burpee is too difficult for either of you, try out these modified versions.)

Do 5 repetitions, switch over so you do the burpees and your partner does the plank. Rest for 30 seconds.

4. Squats

Work out your legs and gluts while looking into your partner’s eyes! Stand opposite each other with your arms outstretched forward, just as you would with regular squats, only this time, your arms touch.

Do 20 repetitions, then rest for 30 seconds.

5. Leg throws

This exercise is great for your core. Lie on the floor and have your partner stand with his feet on either side of your head. Hold onto your partner’s ankles as you lift your legs so they point towards the sky. Your partner should then hold onto your feet, then push them away. Don’t let your feet touch the ground.

Do this for 1 minute, switch with your partner, then rest for 30 seconds.
