DLSU student dies in an apparent suicide while on campus

A female Accounting student reportedly took her own life by jumping off of the 20th floor of DLSU Taft’s Brother Andrew Gonzales Hall.

According to a tweet posted by The Lasallian at 5:53 p.m. on October 25, the Andrew Hall entrance was impassable. Soon, the reason behind this was all over social media.

 

According to a Manila Bulletin report, Johannes Badillo, DLSU Office of Strategic Communication executive director, confirmed the tragic incident in an official statement and later on posted it on twitter.

“De La Salle University would like to confirm an incident involving a student inside the University premises today, October 25, 2016. School officials are currently cooperating with investigators and the student’s family members on the matter. The University would like to request for everyone to respect the privacy of the family during this time.”

Though the details remain unclear as of now, witnesses told the Manila Bulletin that the female student took off her shoes before jumping off of the building, but managed to grab onto a railing midway through her fall.
