Calatagan is one of the “usual” summer destinations for people who want to get away from the city, but don’t want to spend hours on the road to do so.
Tourists and visitors usually rent a room at a resort or a hotel, which can be pretty expensive. But for those looking for a unique experience, there are resorts where you can rent and pitch a tent right on the beach.
Of course, you won’t have all of your creature comforts. But if you and your family are interested in some adventure, then it’s a great option for the family!
2. Malabrigo Beach, Batangas
Malabrigo beach might not have the same white sands as in Calatagan, but it does have the amazing view. It also has a unique grey pebbled beach, as well as proximity to the Malabrigo lighthouse.
Just like in Calatagan, some resorts offer the option for visitors to rent a tent and camp out in the beach.
What really sets Malabrigo apart, aside from the pebbled beach is the picturesque Malabrigo lighthouse that visitors can walk to and visit. The view is definitely magnificent, and it’s definitely something that’s out of the ordinary!
3. Liwliwa Beach, Zambales
Liwliwa Beach in San Felipe, Zambales is another “hidden gem” when it comes to amazing summer beach destinations in the country.
The great thing about Liwliwa Beach is that the accommodations are relatively affordable. A room for four costs only 1,900 pesos, which is a bargain considering the cost of rooms these days.
There are also campsites where visitors can pitch tents for about 100 pesos. Surfing lessons are available if you or your kids are feeling adventurous!
4. Silanguin Cove, Zambales
Located in San Antonio, Zambales, Silanguin Cove is a picturesque beach that will definitely be a memorable destination for your family.
While not as popular as Anawangin or Nagsasa, Silanguin Cove is just as beautiful!
For those looking to stay in Silanguin Cove, you need to be ready to spend a night camping, as it’s the best way to experience the place. However, there are two-room huts that cost about P1,500 a night.
5. Alibijaban Island, Quezon
Alibijaban Island in Quezon might be a far-flung destination, but we can assure you that the trip is most definitely worth it.
Located in Quezon province, Alibijaban has a lot of lush mangroves, and an amazing view of the sunrise and sunset!
For those looking to stay overnight (and why not?) the options would be to camp, or book a homestay.
Homestay rooms cost around 500-1000, and it’s a unique experience since you’re going to stay at a local’s home.
This means that you get to experience how life is on the island firsthand, plus you also get to meet the amazing and friendly locals.
