The shouting moms

It is not unusual for moms to shout during labor and childbirth. Shouting can be a result of pain, frustration and fear. But there are also unexpected shouts or shrieks that convey joy, surprise, and can give everyone in the delivery room a good laugh.

Here are some moments that may be a memorable one due to the reactions of these moms:

“'Yong sumigaw ako after lumabas si baby. Nakamask kasi ako 'di nila kita kailan ako umiire.”

The researcher mom

Whether we admit it or not, we all have that one moment where we research everything about medicine or symptoms before going to the doctor. TAP Mom Cherrie shared her funny experience with that:

“(After giving birth,) the first questions I asked the nurse when I woke up was, " Is my baby tongue-tied? What's her apgar score?" since I want to breastfeed her. Then the nurse, looking surprised, answered, "Your baby is perfectly fine with a 9.9 Apgar Score. Then she asked, "Are you a doctor or a nurse?" I said, No, I just did my research since I am high-risked."?”

The husbands club

Why are husbands there for if not to distract us from the pain of giving birth and give us comic relief?

Mommy Airene shared her experience of having her husband by her side throughout labor.

If anybody should see this painstaking process, it should be our husbands, to remind them of our selfless sacrifice. Mommy Rachelle expressed her happiness when her husband witnessed everything from labor until the delivery of their baby.

"'Yong habang umiire ako, naiyak 'yong asawa ko." Mommy Rizalyn also shared.

Support during labor and delivery

Labor can be a terrifying experience for women, especially first births.

In addition, women will experience physical sensations ranging from discomfort to severe pain.

Support and care during labor and childbirth are very important to moms. Research shows that moms who receive good social support during labor and childbirth tend to have shorter labors, control their pain better, and tend to have less need for medical intervention.

Helping a pregnant mom to be as relaxed as possible and aware of her situation can help minimize the emotional distress and physical pain of labor and birth.

A funny mom also shared that instead of calling her husband, she blurted out, "Mommy!" Who would be on the right mind when you're all nervous and jittery during your childbirth?

Funny childbirth stories involving the hospital staff

“The midwives were a snob at me, so I spoke in a American accent the entire procedure, soon after my labor they said their noses bled,” shared Mommy Bianca. Who else could pull off a stunt like this other than an irritated pregnant mom?

There are times when the doctor and other hospital staff can’t help holding their conversations off, leaving their patients on their own. Well, childbirth really does require patience. Jamina, Josalyn, and other moms shared their encounters with these types of people:

However, there were also doctors who went beyond the call of duty and managed to help the nervous moms through their ordeal.

The interns

Moms, Elaine and Aileen shared their encounters with the interns while giving birth. One is embarrassed, and the other is frustrated.

Elaine expressed in frustration.

Meanwhile, Mommy Aileen felt embarrassed due to the amount of interns inside the delivery room.

Who wouldn’t feel embarrassed right?

Hilarious anecdotes from CS moms

For those who think that CS or delivery via cesarean section is "not the same as the real thing," think again. Moms go through a challenging process from the moment they realize it's time to get the baby out.

Said Mommy Michelle when she saw a mom who was first in line for delivery via CS. She saw the mom shaking with fear which made her want to quit but still pushed through it for her baby.

These moms also shared their experience with the cesarean procedure:

"I am also a CS (mom). I woke up after the baby was out. I was chilling and I tried to move but I can’t feel anything."

"That moment when I am on CS (delivery). I was groggy because of the anesthesia, I was a bit relaxed, until I saw the reflection of what the doctors are doing to me."

Cesarean section

Cesarean delivery (C-section) is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus.

A lot of moms are actually terrified with this kind of delivery because of the horror stories, the possible complications, and the longer recovery period. But when do you really have to resort to this procedure?

Your health care provider might recommend a C-section if your labor isn’t progressing, the baby is in distress, there’s a problem in your placenta, or you have a health concern.

A C-section might be planned ahead of time if a pregnant mom develops health or baby complications along the way.

Awkward moments make for funny childbirth stories

The moment you know that baby's about to come out, "Mommy brain" sets in. Some moms shared their "Oops" moment while they were in labor.

Mommy Ericka shared that after giving birth, she immediately asked the doctor who their baby looks like.

Another mom also shared that during her delivery, when she was about to push, her dad suddenly called and asked if she was already done.

For Mommy Aileen, her nerves got her confused and made her go the wrong room. Instead of going to the delivery room, she went into the laboratory, making the nurses and doctors laugh.

While they can be embarrassing in those moments, these funny and memorable moments are part of our lives, and would be a great story to tell the kids when they grow up.

It is okay to have these funny childbirth stories once in a while, looking back, it can release the tension and make people have a good laugh especially for moms during childbirth.

These stories also tell other moms that it's not all struggles and sacrifice. There are also a lot of great moments in between. And it shows that there's light at the end of what seems like a really long tunnel. After all the pain, there will come a time when you're just going to laugh when you think about your childbirth story.

"I'm really amazed by your stories, mommies, said one mom.
