A fire-out was declared at around 5:30 AM.
What can parents do in case a fire breaks out?e
In case of a fire, parents should be the ones to keep their kids calm as well as formulate a plan of action regarding what they can do to escape.
Here are some important things that you should always keep in mid:
- Find a way to escape ASAP. During a fire, your first instinct should be to try and look for an escape route. Which is why it’s very important to know the ins and outs of your home, and where are the important exits.
- Keep calm, and call for help immediately. As soon as a fire breaks out, make sure to call the fire station and ask for help. Every second counts, so be sure to always have emergency numbers on speed dial.
- Keep your kids close. When trying to escape, always keep your kids close so that they don’t get lost, or get hurt. Make sure that you can see them, and always keep them safe.
- Stay low. Contrary to popular belief, the fire and the heat aren’t the most deadly aspects of a fire. It’s the smoke inhalation that can cause you to feel lightheaded and pass out. That’s why it’s very important to always stay low if a fire breaks out in your home.
- Don’t hide under the bed or inside a closet. Generally, it’s a bad idea to hide under a bed or inside a closet as you might suddenly find yourself trapped in the blaze. Additionally, it would be harder for the firemen to rescue you since they can’t easily find you if you’re under the bed or insiDe a closed.
