“Gobyernong may puso.” This was the campaign slogan of tandem Grace Poe and Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
And just like that slogan, Chiz’s campaign was filled with heart as his wife, actress Heart Evangelista, stayed by her husband’s side.
Their love affair may have started on rocky ground, tested from the very beginning and met with opposition from those close to them. But it looks like the Heart & Chiz tandem is here to stay.
In fact, despite the toll the campaign must have taken on their relationship as husband and wife, the two remain as much in love with each other as the day they said “I do”.
Chiz, who is currently serving a term in Senate, was the fourth in the vice presidential race until he conceded.

Chiz conceded from the vice presidential race after it became clear that he would not beat Leni Robredo’s numbers. He was fourth in the race with more than 4.6 million votes registered in the partial and unofficial count.
Post-campaign, Chiz and Heart vacationed in Balesin Island, where they wed in February last year.
