I have a toddler who’s very curious with things and uses cry as his language most of the time. When he is frustrated, he cries. When he wants something but he can’t deliver it properly, he cries. When he wakes up from nap, sometimes he cries too.

Crying is normal for toddler that’s why it is vital for parents like us to be extremely patient in dealing with our little one’s tantrums. Remember that toddlers are like your own mirror. So when you display anger and roughness they’ll mimic that attitude eventually.

So how do I teach my toddler?

Toddlers are naturally curious and loves to copy what you do inside the house. So I grab these opportunities to teach him with basic chores. He loves playing with broom, cooking utensils and water. So therefore I turned his curiosity into something like educational activities.

But make sure to always assist him and never leave him alone, you have to do it together. I usually make sure that he’s having fun. Because when he enjoys, he’ll have a successful learning journey.

Without pressure, he’ll have a better understanding with what he is doing. It is important to not put pressure on our kids if we want them to effectively understand what we want them to learn.

What if your child unexpected behavior such as spitting or biting? I know, such behaviors must be really challenging for us parents. But then again, try not to respond in anger. You have to sit down think and assess why your child is behaving that way.

Mine had this spitting behavior and believe me, I was so frustrated at first. I even responded with anger which only made things worse. So I changed my approach. We gave him more attention but didn’t have much progress. I believed that he get it from the videos he watch on YouTube that he thought it’s an acceptable doing.

So what I did was every time he spits, I”ll calmly tell him that I needed to make him stay outside our room for a while because what he did is not nice, that he should not do it again. I did it thrice and it went well. He’s no longer spitting ever, until today.
