Gaano kadalas ninyo hinahayaang maglaro mag-isa si baby?

Lagi kong nababasa na ang “independent play” or paglalaro na mag-isa ng isang bata ay mahalaga para sa kanyang development.

Mahalaga ito para ma-develop ang kanilang imagination at creativity. Dito nakakabuo sila ng mga kwento sa kanilang isipan at nai-a-act out sa pamamagitan ng paglalaro. Nagiging creative din sila papano gawin ang mga bagay-bagay.

Minsan gumagawa ng ramp na galing sa mga karton ang aking anak at doon niya inii-slide ang mga kotse niya. Wala nagturo nun sa kaniya. Kusa niyang naisipan gawin dahil may napanuod siyang nag-i-slide ang mga sasakyan.

Independent play can also encourage or promote speech development. Magsisimula ‘yan sa sounds hanggang sa alam na lahat ni baby pangalanan ang mga laruan niya. Sa paglalaro ng mga toy cars si baby ay nag-bo-vroom vroom at beep beep din. Matututunan din niya ang pagkakaiba ng mga cars tulad ng ambulance, fire truck, police car, etc.

Sa paglalaro ng mga animal toys, matutunan niya ang mga animal sounds at mga pangalan ng mga animals.

Gaano ba kaaga dapat hayaang maglaro mag-isa si baby?

Hindi ako isang eksperto pero sa aking pananaw, depende ito sa bata. ‘Pag ang baby ay nakakaupo na ng hindi natutumba, pwede nang simulan i-introduce ang independent play ng mga ilang minuto, hanggang si baby ay kusang gugustuhin ang maglaro mag-isa.

Hindi din naman ibig sabihin ng independent play ay kusa mo na lang iiwanan si baby at hayaan na lang. Babantayan pa din si baby pero huwag mo papakialaman kung papano niya laruin ang isang bagay. Kung sabi niya ay boat ang kaniyang nilalaro, hayaan mo lang na laruin niya itong parang boat.

Napakalawak ang imahinasyon ng mga bata. Sa tingin ko kung tayo ay masyadong restrictive o kaya lagi silang sinasabihan ng “no” o “hindi ganyan”, hindi sila matututo.

Pero syempre, iba-iba pa din ang magwo-work sa bawat bata. At iba-iba din ang ating mga sitwasyon. Kung ano pa din ang sa tingin mo mas nakakabuti sa iyong anak, yun ang sundin mo.

Ngunit kung hahayaang maglaro ang inyong anak nang mag-isa, dapat lang ay masigurong safe ang kaniyang pagi-enjoy.

Heto ang ilang tips na pwedeng sundin para maging ligtas ang independent play ng inyong kids:

Gumawa ng space na masisigurong child-safe

Tingnan ang kwarto kung may mga socket o plug na pwedeng magalaw ang bata. Tanggalin din ang matutulis na bagay sa kaniyang play space.

I-monitor ang bata

Kung maglalaro siya mag-isa, mahalaga na tingnan siya from time to time para masigurong ligtas siya.

Siguruhing ang lalaruin niya ay akma sa kaniyang edad

Dapat na ang toys na kaniyang lalaruan ay age-appropriate para sa kaniya. Kung may mga maliliit na pieces sa toys, dapat ay iwasan muna itong ibigay kung hindi niya pa alam na delikado ito kapag nalunk nila.

Normal lang na maging bored ang bata.
