Indonesia will begin to castrate pedophiles

The Indonesian government has decided to implement chemical castration for all convicted pedophiles.

The procedure is done by injecting them with female hormones.

This is also a common practice in Poland as well as South Korea and some parts of the United States.

The most recent, shocking case was that of a 9-year-old girl who was kidnapped, raped, and killed.

In the Philippines, earlier this year, a 51-year-old Australian man was arrested for running one of the largest pedophile rings from his home in Mindanao.

The horrific crimes which included the brutal rape and torture of young girls were broadcast all over the internet as pay-per-view videos.

Authorities discovered the unimaginable crimes had been going on since he entered the country in 2011.

Though chemical castration is a useful tool to punish pedophiles, we need more laws that prevent child abuse and murder from happening in the first place.

Before castration became the law in Indonesia, child rapists can be sentenced to fifteen years in jail but sadly, many of them serve only short sentences.
