Iya Villania and Drew Arellano recently welcomed their firstborn child, who they named Antonio Primo, after Drew’s late father.
In a live phone patch interview on her home network GMA’s news program 24 Oras, Iya shared how difficult labor was for her.
Labor came early for Iya, who gave birth on August 30; she was not due until September 4.
They rushed to the hospital when she started having stomach pains but went back home, thinking it was just a false alarm.
At around 5 A.M. on the same day, however, they returned to the hospital knowing for sure she had gone into labor.
“Ang hirap pala manganak,” shared the overjoyed new mom. “Kahit naka epidural. Ang hirap, pero sobrang sarap paglabas ni baby!”
She recounts how her husband was there by her side throughout labor and delivery.
She was in labor for about 6 hours before giving birth at 12:06 P.M.
Antonio Primo was born weighing 2.9 kilos or 6 lbs and 4 oz.
“Sobrang sulit lahat ng paghihirap,” gushed the new mom.
