Just ten days after becoming a father, actor John Prats says he is more relaxed when he takes care of his daughter, Baby Lily Feather, who was born on April 18.
In an interview by Arniel Serato on PEP.ph, Prats revealed that he takes care of baby Feather in the wee hours of the morning to give his wife, Isabel Oli, a much needed break, waking her only when the baby needs to breastfeed.
“Ang hirap nung una kasi hindi mo alam kung bakit umiiyak siya. Hindi mo alam, e, it’s either change diapers or gutom, yun lang naman, e. But after last week, ngayon alam ko na kung ano yung timpla, so medyo relax na kaming mag-asawa sa ngayon (It was difficult at first because I did not know why she was crying. I did not know if she was hungry or needed a diaper change. But after last week, I can already tell, so my wife and I are now more relaxed),” Prats shared.

In an Instagram post, Prats talks about how different their lives have become since Baby Lily Feather was born. He also says that despite the long nights and lack of sleep, the joy his daughter has brought him motivates him to work harder for his family.
But more than anything, this hands-on father is happy and relieved that both his wife and baby are in perfect health.
“Sobrang happy na ako ngayon na sobrang healthy and safe yung delivery ng wife ko. [Y]ung transition kasi na day one, na sana lima yung daliri ng anak ko, na kumpleto at healthy siya at walang kumplikasyon (I am so happy that my wife had a safe delivery. On the first day, I hoped my child would have a complete set of fingers, that she would be whole and healthy, with no complications),” he said.
“Happy na ako na yun yung nangyari sa pamilya ko, sa aking munting pamilya (I am so happy that that is what happened with my family, my humble family),” he added.
Prats further revealed that he and his wife are planning Baby Lily Feather’s baptism.
In fact, they already have godparents in mind, such as Angelica Panganiban, members of the Banana Sundae family, Carlo (Prats’s brother), and Sam Milby.
