Since Kate Hudson broke up with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy in 2014, she’s been linked to several men: Nick Jonas, professional football player J.J. Watt, and most recently, DJ and record producer Diplo. However, she has refused to confirm to any of these speculations on her dating life.
In the October 2016 issue of Marie Claire, she explains why she’s been particularly secretive about her dating life. “The reason I don’t talk about anything like that is because I have kids,” the 37-year-old actress says. She has two sons: 5-year-old Bingham (with Matt Bellamy), and 12-year-old Ryder (with ex-husband Chris Robinson).
“I’m not going to indulge in that kind of thing until there’s someone in my life who I am introducing to my kids.”
“People ask that question as if, ‘Oh yeah, it’s really healthy to publicly talk about who I am or am not dating when I’ve got a tween.’ [Ryder] can read, and he can hear,” she explains. “I’m not going to indulge in that kind of thing until there’s someone in my life who I am introducing to my kids.”

“I can’t do everything. I’m going to have to be the OK mom.”
Hudson also shared her experience about being a working single mom, saying she has to settle with just being “OK”.
”I don’t try to sugarcoat things,” she says. “I’ll say, ‘I’m doing the best I can.’ I like cooking, I like presenting. I like it to be an experience and [my kids] help me with it, but if they want something after that, I’ll be like, ‘Look, I’m placing a meal out for you like a king. I can’t do everything. I’m going to have to be the OK mom.'”
She also went on to say that she got her interest in wellness from her mother, Goldie Hawn. “It was always part of our life. My mom’s passion is about finding joy,” Hudson says. “Even in difficult moments, she has this joy of life. And I feel the same way.”
