Over a week after Kylie Padilla welcomed her first baby with fiance Aljur Abrenica, her friend, road manager Ghee Castro shared snippets of the 24-year-old actress’ inspiring all-natural, water birth journey at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City.

“I am overwhelmed to be sharing one of the most amazing experience of my life by far,” began Castro in the video’s caption. “I’ve known and seen Kylie as a physically strong person; it was the first time I saw her so weak, shaking, in so much pain throughout her four days of labor.”

Continuing, she expressed her gratitude to Kylie’s doula, Irina for the emotional and physical support even when they had to shift to normal delivery midway through the arduous labor process.

“Kylie and (Aljur’s) birth plan was to deliver Alas through water birth and all natural,” wrote Castro. “Kylie fought so hard and did it her best but sometimes things are not in our control, Kylie’s cervix did not dilate fully when they reached 8cm, so she decided to go with normal delivery.”

Recalling the first time they saw Alas, Castro describes it was a beautiful moment for everyone present, including Kylie’s dad, actor Robin Padilla.

“It is true, that once the mother has finally seen her child, all the pain goes away, at least for few precious minutes, Kylie even cut her umbilical cord and was able to stand and walk to check on Alas few hours after delivery,” recalled Castro, adding how proud and happy she is for the couple.
