After 26 years apart, Lotlot de Leon was finally able to spend time with her biological mother, Eva Rodriguez.

“Thank you, Mama Eva,” the 46-year-old actress wrote in the caption of her instagram post, which also contained a quote by Tuesdays with Morrie author Mitch Albom. “But there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begin.”

The heartwarming reunion happened in Venice Beach, California, where Eva is now based. Lotlot told PEP that they met the day before they were going to head back to the Philippines.

They last saw each other in 1991 when Lotlot was only 20 years old.

But theirs wasn’t the only touching reunion, as Lotlot’s children Janine and Diego were also able to meet their biological grandmother for the very first time.

“I’m happy to see her. Masaya naman! Happy that she met the kids, (because) I want the kids to know also their roots,” shared the mom of four, adding that she tried to keep herself from crying, while her “mama Eva” was teary eyed when they arrived and eventually started crying for a long time.

Lotlot’s adoptive parents are TV and film veterans Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon, who were once married.

Back in 2012, Lotlot met her biological father David Olson, who was in the American Navy, in Chicago. Lotlot’s children met him a year later.
