Man arrested for touching teenage girl inside jeepney

The man allegedly touched the teenager's chest and leg while they were inside the jeepney.

The 17-year-old, named “Lea”, was about to get down from the jeepney when the suspect, who was about to ride the jeepney suddenly touched her leg, and her chest.

She was with her mom and 3 cousins

The incident happened at around 9:30 PM in Tondo, Manila. The victim, who was with her mom and 3 of her cousins, then told her mother about what happened.

The mother then went to the man and confronted him for his actions. During the confrontation, Lea’s mom said that she saw the man was about to punch her, so she immediately hit him 2 times to protect herself. She added that when she saw the man trying to get something from his pocket, so again she quickly slapped the man.

Because of the commotion, the driver had to seek help from barangay officials who then arrested the man.

The suspect said it was an accident

The suspect, who was identified as Danny Largo from Silang, Cavite, said that what happened was an accident.

He said, “Iyung lalaki sabi binastos ko raw ang bata. Hindi po, hindi po talaga.” He added that he was not the type of person who does such things.

He goes on to say that if ever he touched her chest and legs, it was most likely by accident, since he was drunk. He added that he’s asking for forgiveness if he did in fact accidentally touch the teenager.

However, the suspect is still detained in Manila Police District Station 1. He will be facing a complaint regarding acts of lasciviousness.

Due to trauma from the incident, no one is currently unable to talk to the victim.
