Maricar de Mesa shares her story

Find out what Maricar said in Serato’s interview as narrated below:

The sexy star admitted that she is dating a foreigner, but does not want to label the relationship because her marriage to Don has not yet been annulled.

Maricar also said she is looking for someone mature to become her partner in life.

“Hindi na ako yung makikipaglaro pa. Makipagbolahan. O yung date ngayon, wala na bukas. I look forward to someone who’s mature. Yung puwedeng may potential na maging partner mo in life,” she told the entertainment news website.

(“I am no longer playing around. I don’t date tonight and forget it tomorrow … Someone who has the potential to be my partner for life.”)

She’s not yet ready to be friends with her ex

It has been two years since the spouses filed for annulment for “psychological incapacity”, but Maricar says she is not ready to be friends with Don yet.

“Hopefully, I’m praying. I’m crossing my fingers. Hopefully I get my annulment soon…yun na lang hinihintay ko (that’s the only thing I’m waiting for),” she said when asked about the status of her annulment.

When asked if she was a battered wife, Maricar was quick to say that she was never physically abused by Don, but she was emotionally battered.

“Oo, emotionally. Hindi naman physical. Pero kasi yung pambababae, masakit pa yan sa physical e. Sana pinisikal na lang niya ako,” she shared.

“Yes, emotionally. But not physical. But cheating with other women, that is more painful than physical. I wish he physically abused me instead.”)

The ordeal made her more independent

But Maricar said the ordeal has made her stronger and more independent, allowing her to see God’s goodness in her life.

“…somehow nakapagpahinga na ako. Parang wow, mabait pa rin pala si Lord sa akin…Kasi masasabi mo now na I’m more independent simula nung naging single ako. Mas nakakapagdesisyon ako sa sarili ko,” she said.

(“…somehow I was able to breathe. The Lord is still good to me. Now I can say that I am more independent since I became single.I am more capable of making decisions on my own.”)

“Mas naging adventurous ako at mas marami akong nami-meet na iba’t ibang tao,” she added.
