Happy 5th anniversary, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan!

Mark and his wife Priscilla celebrated the 5th year of their happily-ever-after this weekend, 20th May. In a moving Facebook post, the devoted husband looked back on the funny events that marked their wedding.

He recounted how the devious pair planned their nuptials in secret. They invited their guests over by telling them it was a party to celebrate Priscilla’s graduation from medical school — and then sprang the surprise!

Of course, life had a bit of a surprise for them as well. The Facebook founder revealed how their wedding ended up falling only a day after Facebook went public in 2012, because Facebook’s CFO had no idea of their plans.

Thanks to this bad timing, the couple had to cut short their romantic honeymoon in Rome. But like the attentive husband he is, Zuckerberg promised to make it up to Priscilla — by having a honeymoon every year after. This anniversary, they plan to hike down to rural Maine. Talk about married couple goals!

Cue a round of awwwws… It couldn’t be more obvious that five years into married life, the young billionaire is still deeply in love with his wife.

The way Mark handled this funny wedding coincidence gives us a glimpse of how the high-flying couple balances professional and personal life. Mark and Priscilla are definitely role models for staying committed in marriage. Despite the vast amount of responsibilities they juggle, their bond clearly remains rock-solid. We would be green with envy if we weren’t so busy taking notes!

The pair started out as college sweethearts. They met while queuing for the bathroom at a Harvard party in 2003, according to Business Insider. Not the most romantic of settings, but casualness is definitely a Zuckerberg trademark.

Through 9 years of courtship, the two supported each other as they blazed a trail in their respective fields. Priscilla pursued medical school to become a pediatrician, while Mark launched the social media site that took the world by storm. They tied the knot in 2012.

Despite being so busy, Mark and Priscilla happily make time for enjoying domestic life together. One requirement the couple reportedly sticks to is one date and at least 100 minutes of alone time per week. Looks like a recipe for domestic bliss!

And just this March, the couple announced in a Facebook post that they were gearing up to welcome baby number two, another girl. Zuckerberg wrote, “We can’t wait to welcome our new little one and do our best to raise another strong woman.”
