In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Mind You Mental Health Systems has partnered with lifestyle clothing brand Mossimo in their ongoing effort to #EndTheStigma surrounding mental health. The ‘You Are Loved’ campaign is an initiative spearheaded by Mossimo that aims to spread encouragement, love, and hope to help spread awareness about the importance of self-care and mental wellbeing.

A social media campaign will feature mental health advocates speaking about their own experiences, in an effort to open up the conversation about the topic. Former Miss Earth Colombia and Psychology student, Michelle Gomez, shares how she copes with the ups and downs of life. She says, “I go through ups and downs more than I’d like to, and it’s not always easy. For both the good and the bad days, I always go to my journal, because it really helps me express what I can’t say with my voice.”

Music and lifestyle streamer Geli Cruz also joins the roster and talks about being judged for her looks early on in her career and how this has initially affected her. However, she did not allow these struggles to pull her down, “One day, I decided that this was not gonna be the end of my story, so I kept showing up even when no one was watching my live streams, and lo and behold, opportunities came.” Also joining the social media campaign for “You Are Loved” are LGBTQIA+ lifestyle and content creator EJ Nacion and newly crowned Miss Eco International, Kathleen Paton.

To further their campaign, Mossimo’s partner, Mind You, will be offering a free wellness webinar titled, ”My Mother is Unique, So Is Yours: Celebrating All Kinds of Moms” on May 25, 5pm. The learning session will feature Mind You’s Senior Psychologist, Rea Celine Villa, as she talks about the growing population of nontraditional moms, the realities of non-traditional parenting, and how to foster an inclusive environment within the household. There will be a Q&A contest at the end of the webinar asking questions about the Mossimo campaign – participants will get the chance to win a You Are Loved box and Mossimo gift certificates. Stay tuned on Mind You’s social media pages to know more details about the webinar soon.

For Adamson Bactat, President of Mossimo, this is not just another campaign: mental health awareness is an advocacy they hold close to their heart. He says, “Over 20 years ago, as early as 2001, the WHO had already announced that 1 out of 4 people suffer from mental health issues… This problem is huge and Mossimo wants to acknowledge, encourage, and empower you.”

Mossimo Philippines Marketing Manager, Mags David, echoes this sentiment, “Mental health is an important part of overall health and wellness because it affects how we think, feel, and act. Bringing awareness to the people can save lives, which is what Mossimo aims to do. Let’s create a space for people to feel heard.” To show their commitment to the cause, a portion of the proceeds from the boxes will be used to support Mind You’s CSR and NGO community programs, which have the primary objective of making mental health support more accessible for economically vulnerable communities in the Philippines.
