They said that before having a baby, you should be prepared for everything. You must know everything.
Well, everyone must know that being a mother is never an easy thing. Especially for someone like me whose babies are just a year gap. Sometimes I feel bad for one another because I think I’m giving them less attention mostly in times when the other is having a tantrum.
I need to balance the time I’m giving them for me to supply their knowledge. I’m still learning and I’m still trying to figure out how. I have a lot of things to do and to be worried about.
They say that you are a supermom once you become a mother and you can do everything. But for me, you can’t do it all at once not until you are a mother. Everything you thought you can do, you must do. You’ll forget most of it.
Because being a mother means new learning every time and every day. We should not feel guilty for the things that we can’t do because I believe that you’ve done everything before you say you can’t do it.
Try and try. Be open to new things and new knowledge. Because as we teach our kids we are also learning new things. Don’t envy other moms that you think are much better than you.
The same goes for our babies. As a mom, I don’t force them to learn what I saw that other babies can. I try to teach them something and if they don’t show interest. I won’t force them. I trust their capacity and ability.
Every child has milestones. And I am with them to guide and teach them when they are ready. Learning is supposed to be fun. We should not force them.
So to all parents, don’t pressure yourself. I know you are doing your best and that is more than anything. You’re doing a good job! I’m proud of you. Keep it up!
