Try as we may, we can’t do anything to stop aging. We can, however, prevent premature aging by taking care of ourselves. Here are some great ways to look younger, sans plastic surgery.
1. Give up smoking.
Everyone knows that smoking’s bad for you, but studies have also shown that it actually makes you older. If you’re a smoker now, it’s never too late. Kick the habit now and reduce your risk of heart and lung disease—and look younger while you’re at it.
2. Stay out of the sun.
We can’t emphasize this enough: sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. The older we get the harder UV rays are on our skin, so if you want to take care of your youthful good looks, reach for the self-tanner instead of laying out in the sun.
3. Stay hydrated. Moisturize.
When we are dehydrated, the body redirects its water to essential organs like the heart and liver, while skin is neglected. Make sure your skin is taken care of by drinking enough water; most adults should drink at least two liters a day. And while you’re at it, moisturize and keep the wrinkles at bay.

4. Exercise.
Exercise promotes circulation, bringing more nutrients and oxygen to your skin. It also improves your posture, which does wonders for your appearance.
5. Have more sex!
Sex is fun, it’s good for your health, and it can make you look up to 10 years younger if you have it often enough (at least 3 times a week). What are you waiting for?
6. Eat more fat.
We’re talking the good kind—omega-3 fatty acids. We’re talking salmon, walnuts, etc. that prevent visible aging by reducing inflammation. Omega-3 also keeps your skin looking radiant.
7. Sleep.
Not getting enough sleep leads to fatigue, stress, and puffy eyes. Sufficient sleep keeps your skin supple and elastic, preventing wrinkles.
