Neri Naig opens up about her emergency C-section
The new mom recounts her birthing story and reveals the reason behind her emergency CS. She also explains baby Miggy's prolonged hospital stay
Following a delicate and risky pregnancy, actress/mompreneur Neri Naig finally gave birth to her first child with husband, Chito Miranda.
It's been nearly a month since Chito and Neri became parents and little is known about her birthing story – that is, until now. Writing on Instagram, Neri recounted how she started talking to baby Miggy while he was still in utero, urging him to "come out when he's ready".
"Exactly 8:50pm ng November 22, lumabas ka na. Ninenerbyos na ang tatay mo sa labas ng delivery room," recalled the new mom, addressing her baby boy.
She also shared that her massive loss of blood warranted surgery. "Maraming dugo ang nawala kay Mommy at nag emergency CS ako tapos ikaw ay nagkaron ng fever kaya nag stay tayo ng 12 days sa hospital."
Miguel Alfonso Miranda's arrival marked an extra special milestone because he was their rainbow baby (a child born after a miscarriage).
She credits her new baby boy and her husband for being her sources of strength.
"Pero kinaya natin lahat, baby ko. Pinapatapang mo si Mommy. Ikaw at ang tatay mo ang strength ko," wrote an emotional Neri, adding how thankful she is they got Cordlife to ensure their baby's future health and wellness.
"Mahal na mahal ka namin ng tatay mo, anak ko. Ibang happiness ang bininigay mo sa amin," continued the new mom. "Kahit puyat kami at pagod, nawawala lahat yun dahil sayo. I love you, Miggy!"

Neri also shared a clip of the time Chito met their son Miggy for the first time. "Nakakatuwa and nakakaiyak at the same time," wrote Neri in the accompanying caption of the video, which was taken by Miggy's pediatrician, Dr. Gavino.
"Kayo ang buhay ko. Mahal na mahal ko kayong dalawa!"
Two months before the birth, they were planning to name him Alfonso III, after Chito and his dad. But it was Chito who decided to name him Miguel Alfonso instead and Neri explained the switch by sharing an inside joke between the fun-loving couple.
"Para daw kapag pinakilala niya ang anak niya, sasabihin nya daw, 'this is my son, Miguel'. Hahaha! Maloko ang tatay pero buti na lang at maganda ang pangalang Miguel," wrote Neri. "Ako naman gusto ko yung 'Alfonso' kase yun ang real name ni Chito saka lolo ni Miggy. Tapos unang apo na magdadala pa ng Miranda na apelyido."
