Dr. Lulu Martinez, host of the radio program “Private Nights” on DZMM, shared that according to studies, only 50% of women reach orgasm, or sexual climax whenever they’re having sex.

What is a ‘true orgasm’ for women?

In a nutshell, a ‘true orgasm’ for women is when the woman experiences among other things, a contraction of the pelvic muscles when they reach sexual climax. According to Dr. Lulu Martinez, most women for one reason or another, tend to fake their orgasms.

She says that this commonly happens when the man reaches sexual climax before the woman, which means that either the woman lacks sexual stimulation, or the man prematurely ejaculates before both of them can reach sexual climax.

She adds that stimulation is important for the woman, as sometimes the act of having sex isn’t enough for the woman to reach orgasm.

Foreplay is important for couples

According to Dr. Martinez, foreplay is important for women as it helps them get ready and stimulated for sex. For most men, foreplay can be just an afterthought, but for women to become fully stimulated and ready for sex, foreplay is essential.

Foreplay also builds intimacy, as it lets couples explore each other’s bodies and know their likes and dislikes when it comes to sex.

Dr. Martinez added that for women, there are 2 types of orgasm, clitoral, and vaginal orgasm. For clitoral orgasm, it happens when the clitoris is being stimulated.

On the other hand, for vaginal orgasms, the Gräfenberg spot or the G-spot is being stimulated. So husbands need to know these different things if they want to keep their wives happy in bed.

At the end of the day, sex is more about the bond of a wife and her husband, and less about simply getting pleasure. Having an intimate relationship, and a deep understanding of each other is really important when it comes to sex in a marriage.
