Moving acts of love and kindness among couples have become rare in this world. There are, however, still a handful of couples who love each other unconditionally. Such rare stories either bring tears to your eyes or a pleasant smile to your face.
So, today, I’ll share with you our love story.
I met my husband in 2008. I was in second-year college at that time. Happy memories were collected during our getting-to-know stage. But challenges were encountered because there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. We experienced heartbreak, twists & turns, and reconciliation. Years go by, our relationship gets stronger and stronger.
Until one of the scariest moments happened in 2015. He was hospitalized and had a stroke; his left body couldn’t move. Many things were circulating in my mind. He is too young; we have more things to do, is the relationship going to go through? But I just realized and remembered all the happy memories that we’ve had together. This sickness will not ruin our relationship. Instead, it will continue.
Our relationship with God also got stronger. Because of his unconditional love, our hearts got protected even more. My husband is in the process of healing.
On August 2018, we found out that I was pregnant! We felt so happy that day. On January 2019, we got married.
We thought that the happiness that we felt would continue. Unfortunately, another problem arose, and he was diagnosed with kidney disease, stage 2. My pregnancy continued, and along with that, we were visiting hospital clinics for check-ups for my husband and me. It was such a stressful moment. But by God’s grace, my baby came out in good condition.
Sadly, days before my due date, my husband was rushed to the hospital. The last diagnosis was End Stage Kidney Disease, and he was advised to undergo Dialysis. That was the most stressful day for us. My love for him grew even stronger. I believe God will give us peace in all the sacrifices. Until my healthy and blessed baby came out, and our whole world turned to happiness again. My husband and I promised that we would still love each other no matter what problems and circumstances arise.
We are so blessed to have supporting families around us that don’t leave us. It’s been three years since I gave birth and three years of my husband’s dialysis journey. Despite these experiences in life, we are entrusting our lives to the Lord and giving the best to my Little Girl Zia.
I hope our love story will inspire all couples out there!
God bless us all.
