1. Buy diapers that are one size bigger

Here’s a tip, buy diapers one size larger. Peeing through a diaper means that your baby will need a diaper that’s one size larger as this helps prevent any leaks.

2. Learn what “support” really means

Support can mean a lot of different things. Support isn’t unsolicited advice or ‘humblebrags’.

3. Ease up on the comfort food

Being a parent is very stressful, so you gotta reward yourself. But make sure not to go overboard; you don’t want to feel nauseous while taking care of your kids.

4. Make sure to get some sleep

Ah sleep. We don’t have to remind you how important sleep is right?

5. Know who your true friends are

This is the time when you’ll know who your real friends are. Real friends are the ones who understand that you’re busy taking care of your kids, and will gladly give you the time of day when you need help.

You’ll never know when you might need a diaper handy or if you might need some band-aids for your kids. So always be sure to be prepared for anything that might happen.

8. You are amazing

You’ll soon realize you can no longer bring back the body that you had before you got pregnant, and that’s totally fine. All mothers are beautiful, and being a parent makes them even more amazing. You go girl!

9. Guilt will creep up on you

Parents feel guilty about everything. Parents feel guilty when they give their kids junk food, they feel guilty when they have to go to work and leave their kids at the daycare, and they feel guilty everytime they miss a  big moment in their children’s lives. It’s normal, but it’s something that you’ll need to get used to.

10. Not all the advice you get will be helpful

While some people may mean well when they give you advice, it’s not always the best decision to follow their advice. Usually, you’ll know what’s best for you and your family, you’re a parent after all! But it also doesn’t mean that you have to reject people when they give advice; think it through and trust your instincts.
