Vic Sotto has been known to joke around a lot, so seeing him emotional and in tears as he wed Pauleen Luna last January 30, 2016, touched the hearts of many fans.

Theirs is quite possibly one of the most misunderstood relationships in showbiz today so it is refreshing to see the couple get their happy ending (and new beginning) despite the odds being stacked against them.

In their touching wedding day video, filmed by Jason Magbanua, the priest who officiated the ceremony took time to address Vic’s kids, reassuring them that though they are “irreplaceable in their father’s heart, his heart is so big that there is a certain part of it that can only be filled by someone he can call his wife.”

At their wedding reception in Alabang, ‘Bossing’ Vic said, as reported by PEP.ph, “I want to tell you something: from this day forward, you will be my number two in my life.”

At first, he said Pauleen was only number six.

“Number one, of course God. Number two, my children. Number three, my family. Number four my job, nandoon na rin my career. Number five, golf. Number six, siya,” he revealed. “Medyo nagtatampo, binola ko na lang sabi ko, ‘Number 5 ka. Mas importante ka sa golf, siyempre.”

But now that they are husband and wife, Vic says she’s moved up a couple of notches.

“So, from number five, number two na siya ngayon sa buhay ko, which means that I love you and I will take care of you, and I wanna thank you and your family,” he said.

He then asked for his children’s understanding as Pauleen now outranks them.

Sabi ko nga sa aking mga anak, ‘Pasensiya na.’ Pero ako’y buong-pusong nagpapasalamat sa inyo,” he said. “I always say na it was not that easy for all of us na tanggapin ang kung ano man. Pero in this instance, naramdaman ko kung gaano niyo ako nirerespeto.

“I love you very much. Kahit na number three kayo, I will still love you that much,” he added. “And to you, my asawa, my number two, I love you forever.”

Vic first got married in 1982 to actress Dina Bonnevie. They have two kids: Danica Sotto (who is married to cager Marc Pingris, with whom she has two kids) and Oyo Boy Sotto (who is married to actress Kristine Hermosa, with whom he has two kids).
