However, if you're open to splurging, the private island resorts of Amanpulo, Balesin, or El Nido may be just the ticket! But there are destinations that are just as stunning, for a fraction of the price, like Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao.

It's no secret that Filipinos are a warm, friendly people with world-class hospitality. A recent survey supports this by naming the Philippines as one of the four most welcoming countries in the world!

"Locals are very outgoing and helpful, which makes foreigners feels accommodated," Eleanor Webley, a Manila native and InterNations Ambassador told BBC.

"The people here are very friendly and are always smiling," added Wendell Yuson in the same interview.

Its rich history has made the Philippines what it is today, an amalgamation of various cultures, which have enriched its already vibrant history.
