On June 24, Ampler posted a heartfelt message for her grandmother, along with a photo collage of her caring for the latter. Ampler’s post quickly became viral  with more than 160,000 likes and 36,000 shares.

According to Ampler, her grandmother took care of her ever since she was a baby–never abandoning even her mother and siblings.

Here are the highlights of Ampler’s message:

A constant presence

For Ampler, her grandmother has been a constant, reassuring presence in her life. According to her, her grandmother was always willing to sacrifice so much for her and her siblings.

(“Now you are 98 years old. Let us do all the things you used to do for us. A while ago, I helped you stand up and asked you to walk. You told me you couldn’t.”)

I love you dami ko luha inang.”

(“We love you so very much. Regain your strength, my Inang…We will never neglect you, especially in your old age. You can no longer feed yourself, bathe on your own, you can no longer walk. Let us be your hands and feet. We can never repay all your sacrifices for us…I love you. I am crying so much, Inang.”)
