During the Bb Pilipinas 2018 pageant, 40 beauties vied for the crown. But one beauty queen stunned, even off-stage, as part of the judging panel — none other than Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman.
Now we know why she had a special glow that evening — she’s pregnant! This will be her second baby with husband of seven years, Marco Alcaraz.
Precious Lara Quigaman pregnant, confirms news while judging Bb Pilipinas 2018
The stunning beauty queen confirmed the happy news in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
“Magiging kuya na si Noah, my son. Hopefully maging okay lahat, maging okay ‘yung pregnancy. Sobrang happy and we are praying na healthy siya,” she shares, smiling.
She also shared that her five-year-old son Noah is practicing to be a big brother already and that he’s hoping to have a baby sister.
Soon-to-be dad of two Marco Alcaraz also opened up about their baby on the way, revealing that this second pregnancy is proving to be more challenging for his wife than the first.
In an interview with PEP, the GMA-7 actor recalled how Lara almost fainted on the set of her ABS-CBN show Bagani. She was also instructed by her doctor to go on bed rest early on in the pregnancy due to a slight hemorrhage.
But the busy mum confidently shared she’s feeling much better and will continue her role on the show, clarifying that their taping schedules have so far been relaxed.
Morning sickness tips for working moms
Even the healthiest of moms can experience nausea during pregnancy.
While the causes of morning sickness are unclear, experts believe that hormonal changes during pregnancy are to blame. Morning sickness doesn’t always involve vomiting.
Even celebrity moms, like British royal Kate Middleton, aren’t immune to morning sickness. Though home remedies — like hydrating, meditation, eating small, frequent meals — can work, there are times when morning sickness warrants a visit to your doctor.
You should call or schedule a visit to your doctor if you experience any of the following:
- Severe nausea or vomiting more than usual
- Limited amount of urine
- Passing dark urine
- Inability to keep fluids down
- Feeling faint or dizzy when rising
- Rapid heartbeat
- Vomiting blood
Though there’s no exact way to prevent morning sickness, a past study suggested multivitamins can help lessen the risk.
Don’t worry, though, morning sickness rarely causes complications to mom or baby. But you should still report this to your doctor, as it could affect your healthy weight gain and your baby’s birth weight if left unchecked… and it can be really uncomfortable!
Be sure to consult your doctor before taking any medication to relieve morning sickness.
