Renowned OB/GYN Dr. Jacques Mortiz is a highly regarded figure in the medical society. In 2013 and 2014, Dr. Mortiz won New York Magazine’s award for best OB/GYN. He’s also assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cornell Medical College. In other words, Dr. Mortiz is considered to be one of the best OB/GYNs in the United States.
Recently, the acclaimed doctor teamed up with digital music service Spotify in order to create the ultimate “birthing playlist”.
“There have been numerous studies that show playing music in any stressful place, like the dentist, can be beneficial,” Dr. Mortiz said in an interview with news.com.au.
According to Dr. Mortiz, about 70% of his patients prepared a playlist to be played during delivery. In his partnership with Spotify, the two parties aimed to create a “delivery room tested and approved” playlist that all mothers can use during labor.
